Dry needling is an effective technique for treating muscle problems. The therapist inserts a very thin, dry needle into your skin, which relaxes the muscle.

Dry needling is effective for:

  • Pain or stiffness in a muscle
  • Radiating muscle pain
  • Reduced strength in the affected muscles

  • Tingling in the arms or legs
  • Headache or dizziness

When does the therapist use dry needling?

Dry needling is a technique used for pain and stiffness due to trigger points (knots) in your muscles. These can be caused by, for example, overload, incorrect posture, and lack of movement.
